List 5. I Don't Get It

Watching all the holiday decorations go up around the neighborhood I realized I just don't get it. The blow-up santas, the light-up gingerbread family, the Vacation-style christmas lights... it's totally over the top. Clearly it's an aesthetic difference but still, it stumps me. The blow-up snowglobe especially. As I thought about it more insane yard art isn't the only thing... what about the WWF? I do NOT get that at all. Or hairless cats and power drinks...

So, what's on your list of things you just don't get?

List 4. Thankful this Thanksgiving

Post-Thanksgiving wrap up: What were you thankful for this Thanksgiving? The mashed potatoes, the never-ending stream of movies on tv, the awesome shower at mom's house? What made your day?

List 3. Pet Peeves

An obvious choice for listing this time... your pet peeves, the stupid things that bug you, that really annoying shit that gets on your nerves. Feel free to let it out, it's okay. Really.

ETA--I've been struggling with list no. 3 for a few weeks. Not that I don't have plenty to be peevish about, it just wasn't sitting right with me. The list itself annoyed me. And then tonight driving home from the grocery store it hit me... the neighborhood edition. It's perfect, I've got more than enough to work with on my street alone. So I ran in, flipped to a page with good lines and a dull background and whipped it out.

List 2. Live in Color

Pick a color, any color... your favorite or even least favorite color... then take inventory of your house. Either list or provide photographic evidence of everything that color. You might be surprised!

ETA--Saturday morning I ran from room to room with my camera looking for yellow. There was way, way more yellow than I thought, from the hideous curtains in the laundry room to my vacuum. And I realized after downloading my photos and arranging all the tumbnails I'd forgotten my yellow dwell duvet and my yellow scrapbooking paper. See, WAY more than I thought.

amy's delicious red, vee's sweet green, and my golden yellow. anybody got teal or purple? how about orange? or white... white would be awesome.

List 1. Would-be TV Couples

You guys have some fabulous list ideas. The list was 160-something long when I worked on it Monday night and I've got three more posts still to add. It's going to take a while to compile the entire list. While I finish sorting, let's get started on the first one...

Amanda's suggestion of "favorite tv couples who aren't couples and that I wish would hurry up and be couples" was a stand out for me. I haven't stopped thinking about it since I saw her post. It's a great spin on TV and, who can't name off a handful of should-be tv couples in a heartbeat? Waiting for couples to finally get together is what tv is all about. Hello, Ross and Rachel... that took forever.

ETA--Just how long did we have to wait for Tony and Angela to finally hook-up? And Mulder and Scully, sheesh. For Ross and Rachel to get past the whole "we were ON a break!" bullshit. And for Izzie to get past Denny, sort of. And Eric, oh Eric... show or books, I'm Team Eric all the way.

let the listing commence

First thing's first, we'll need a list of ideas to work from. Because they're all your lists, at the end of the day, anything we choose to list will help contribute/round out the snapshot (of you) we're making. The sky's the limit; grocery lists, favorite tv shows, a list of ancestors, bad haircuts, anything!

I'm thinking I'd like to revisit an old blog post I did about things men don't notice (it's yellow, it's in the door...) because there were so many hilarious comments.
