Last week I was tagged by two of my favorite inspirational ladies, Tina and Melanie, to continue on with a blog tour!
- What am I working on right now?
I'm working on a fun project for the paislee press blog which will appear tomorrow.
- How long does it take me to create a project?
Some projects take longer than others—a spread in my scrapbook can take anywhere from 20 minutes if I already have a plan and just need to print photos, to 2 months if I'm unsatisfied with how it looks and continue to futz with it swapping out photos and moving cards around. A minibook will take me a few days to a week, working on it in stages as the pages are built, cover is made, etc.
- What are my favorite things to create with at the moment?
Lately my favorite things to create with are large photos. I think it makes my scrapbook feel more like a magazine.
- How does my writing/creating process work?
My process always starts with an idea which I'll sketch out in a notebook so I don't forget. I'll usually let the idea percolate for a few days before I start actually working on it. That way I've already worked through any design or production issues in my mind and know exactly how it should look, what papers to use, which font, etc before I print anything out. Then it's just a matter of bringing my vision to life.
- How do I become inspired and stay inspired?
I've been getting lots of inspiration from the bookstore lately. There are so many books with fantastic covers—the colors and typography are a great source of inspiration. And, my latest obsession—foreign magazines. They usually have a different perspective and cool photography, with unique content and always on beautiful paper.
- What is my signature style?
I would say my style is simple, photo-driven with lots of white space and color.
