I'm determined to finish 2014 before I dive into my 2015 book. They're half done already—lots of photos printed and post its in the gaps, plus I've got my daily notebook for reference. I should be able to do it. December is going to be a snap since I'm just reprinting the photos from my Dec Daily book. So really, it's just a matter of October and November, and printing December. Wish me luck!
The September UGH card is easily one of my all time favorites. Originally, it was a tag from an LLP printable at Studio Calico, but I magicked it into a full journaling card in Photoshop and layered the green plastic letters on top. I haven't done a recap or list like this in a long time and it makes me pretty happy, despite the list of crappy things that happened back-to-back-to-back in September. Also, FRANK. Awesomely weird. And a photo of my two favorite food flash cards that didn't sell in my Instagram sale. Kind of glad to keep them.
Don't even get me started on the Chicago again. When I got my first stereo in 3rd grade, Dad took me to Tower Records to buy some records and "17" was one of them. I can't remember what I made for lunch two days ago but I know every word from every song on that album. I spent most of September and into October singing "Stay the Night" and "Hard Habit to Break" out loud. Sorry for that. (Sidebar, Dad also bought me Madonna's first album that day. Way to go, Dad!)
Two of my brothers came to visit, overlapping by a day which was fun. I love having them around, and having a full house. We hit Artisan twice, saw Weezer and Chicago, spent an afternoon at the beach and ate non-stop. It was awesome. (See more details about this spread on the Paislee Press blog, it feature's Liz's line, On My Desk, from Gossamer Blue).
Some of the finer PL details: MotoGP stats, a new box for my growing collection of SC cards and the story of Niko's snakebite, backed by my favorite shot from the last Schoolhouse Electric catalog. Someday I'd like to have a full wall of built-in bookshelves.
A trip to LA for a lettering class with Molly Jacques necessitated a girl party with Dr West at the new DTLA Ace. And photoboothing. Of course.
I know I always say this spread or that spread are my favs, but this one really is. The black and white, the graphic lettering and the brass/gold is a winner.
