With another large quilt in progress it seems unlikely that I'll get around to finishing my Week in the Life book so I thought I'd show you what I've got and move one. The data I collected--miles driven, meals eaten, etc--to make stats pages at the back will just have to wait until I'm interested again. And who knows when that might be, ha!
I made it easy this time, each day has two spreads. The first, like above, has patterned paper on the left with a big letter (looking at it now it seems like I should hand write Sunday beneath it too, yes?) and my account of the day printed on graph paper on the right. Typing up the vague and sometimes cryptic lists months later, I realized I completely missed the point of this exercise. There's no real story, no emotion. It's just a list of what I did to go with the photos. Next time I'm going to write notes to myself about the day, hopefully with some emotion, because man is this boring.
The second spread for each day has an enlargement on the left and the photo collage on the right. Below is Sunday, the mate to the pages above, and a few others I like. Because I work from home and Tim was out of town I had a really hard time finding unique photos for each day. There were just way too many cereal, keyboard and sandwich shots for me to use more than 7 photos per day. It's likely I decided to add the charts section at the back since putting together the pages was so ridiculously easy. I've got to give it more substance, something more interesting somehow. Or not, we'll see.
